The “Lean Manufacturing” methodology is a new model of production management which is looking for ways to improve and optimize production systems, trying to eliminate or reduce all activities that add value to clients to the process. Today, consumers want their products to be customized so that fit their specific needs, resulting in the need to generate shorter prints and a greater number of configuration changes to production lines. We will see some examples, as a platform Smart Factory 4.0 and its technologies, that can complement the fundamental principles of Lean: perfect quality, minimization of waste, continuous improvement processes “Pull” and flexibility.
